Fierce Commitment

A FIERCE COMMITMENT TO S.F. PUBLIC SCHOOLS is the first article in a San Francisco Chronicle series on the city's public schools. This series is a long time coming.

It presents the real story, the one jibes with my experience. For one thing, it points out the serious benefit for white middle class kids of learning in a classroom that reflects the city's diversity. The tough issues look like they come later in the week, but the blurbs describe them in a balanced way that doesn't seem to prey on parents'worst fears.
